While doing research on my last post “Karma and Gratitude,” I ran across a new hybrid vehicle from Fisker Automotive, the Fisker Karma. In a word, it’s magnificent. I’m a car guy at heart, but have always gravitated towards muscle cars. Like others, I assumed we’d have to wait a while for a plug-in hybrid with even a hint of the performance specs to rival cars like the Camaro, Challenger or Mustang.
Karma and Gratitude
Those are two of my favorite words. I believe strongly in both, and maybe by the end of this post you will too. For me, karma is simply defined as “what goes around, comes around,” or even simpler, “do the right thing.” You can also view it as a system of checks and balances. That is, for every good deed you do, a good deed will be returned to you. It may not be immediate, but in my experience, it will happen. Unfortunately, the same is true for bad deeds.
The Joy of Art (or Photography)
My wife is an artist. Not a professional, that’s what she does for a living artist (though she probably could), but a loves to make art of all types (including photography), was a middle school art teacher and has a degree in Art Therapy kind of artist. She’s very talented and is a great proponent of art.
Wish I’d Thought of That!
I’m sure you’ve all had that thought at one time or another. Well here’s a cool little product for your iPhone that I hope catches on. Below is from the product’s web site:
It always felt to us like something’s missing from the camera phone photo taking experience – snapping away isn’t as easy and enjoyable as it should be.

Available in thirteen colors, the Nomad System comes in packs of 24 sheets that can build approximately a 4 ft x 4 ft (1.4 m x 1.4 m) section.
SEO = Work!
Search Engine Optimization is a topic that is more and more a part of my initial client discussions these days, as people become more aware of why it is they aren’t getting many hits on their web sites. I’m no SEO expert (but I play one on TV, I mean I know one), but here are the basics as I see it. The chances of your site moving up the list in a Google search increase dramatically based on the amount of work you are willing to put into it.
Why I Love Apple Inc.
PC Lovers, please don’t read this. Having used Apple products for over 20 years, I feel I’m qualified to make this endorsement of one of the greatest companies around today. I could go on and on about how cool their products are, how great they work, how they are mostly immune to viruses and crashing and all the headaches that go with those things, and I will later! But for me, the one word that comes to mind when buying, setting up and using any Apple product, is simplicity.
Why Web Sites Matter
Raise your hand if you still use the yellow pages to find a local business in your area! Ok, put your hand down and repeat after me. “If I can’t find it in Google, it doesn’t exist.” Seriously, I can’t remember the last time I used the yellow pages to find a business near me. Whatever the reason, like “I’m too busy (lazy) to get up and go downstairs to find the book” or “every time I pick something out of the book, it’s either closed or has a wrong number,” I just find it easier to search the Internet for what I need.
Customer Service
The more I deal with other companies, business, vendors, etc…, the more I think about customer service and how it affects us all. My business is based on great customer service. That means I answer the phone when it rings and respond to emails almost immediately. I want all of my clients to feel like they are my biggest client, now matter how big the job I’m working on for them. And I hope they all do feel that way.
